Two Richmond Hill High School girls’ cross-country runners finished in the top 20 at the Class AAAAA state meet Saturday in Carrollton.

Jennifer Thorpe was ninth in a time of 21 minutes, 1.88 seconds, and Daryn Lane Petite was 20thin 21:30.70.

In other RHHS girls results, Rachel Hammesfahr was 75th in 23:33.99, Avery Waters was 78th in 23:37.96, Alycia Ussery finished 84th in 23:49.32, Alexis Arai was 127th in 24:53.23, and Gabrielle New was 147th in 25:29.26. 

The Lady Wildcats finished 10th with 254 points. Dunwoody won the team title with 70 points, led by Samantha Cameron, who was first in the individual standings in a time of 20:26.01. 

In the AAAAA boys’ division, Rakeem Littles had the best finish for RHHS, crossing the line in 18.20 for 45th place. Jacob Hedgepeth was 109th in 19:15.10, Cooper Williams was 115th in 19:19.48, William Hammesfahr was 119th 19:21.56, Garrett Franzel was 130th in 19:33.69, Andrew Thorpe was 177th in 20:30.32, and Jacob Collins was 188th in 20:48.71. 

The Wildcats were 18th in the team standings with 493 points. Clarkston won the team title with 90 points. Jake Shewbert won the individual title in 16:49.83.

Also Saturday, six members of the Bryan County girls’ cross-country team competed in the Class AA state meet.

Takerriya Davis was the top BCHS finisher in a time of 28:57.48. In other BCHS results, Lindsey Bowen was 136thin 30:27.98, Cassidy Joyner was 172ndin 35:02.14, Leanna Williams was 181stin 37:31.24, Amy Rountree was 183rdin 37:32.48, and Rachel Thackston was 187thin 39:53.14

The Lady Redskins placed 26thin the team standings with 758 points.

Lovett won the team title with 24 points, as Lovett’s Serena Tripodi was first individually in 19:50.74.
