Sharpe gets 200th win
Richmond Hill native now college coach at SAU

Former Richmond Hill High School point guard Andy Sharpe, now head coach at NCAA Division 2 Southern Arkansas University, picked up his 200thcoaching win as a college coach on Jan. 15 the Muleriders beat visiting Champion Baptist 81-42.

“It’s hard to really wrap my mind around, starting out being a volunteer assistant coach …” Sharpe said during his Jan. 17 coach’s show. “It seems like a long time ago and there are a lot of good memories. I’ve just been blessed to win 200 games.”

Sharpe is in his third season at SAU. The Muleriders (12-5, 8-3 conference) compete in the Great American Conference. He was the NAIA national coach of the year in 2011 while coaching at Martin Methodist in Tennessee.
