The Richmond Hill Middle School boys' soccer team after winning the regional championship.

The Richmond Hill Middle School boys’ soccer team recently completed an undefeated season, downing South Effingham 2-1 to win the regional championship.

Coach Dustin Barnwell said the team was undefeated during the regular season last year but fell to South Effingham in the championship.

“This was a little redemption for us from last year,” he said.

Team members are: Corey Adamski, Camden Brown, Jase Campbell, Jacob Castle, Luke Corbett, Kevin Fernandez, Nelson Fernandez, Pedro Fonseca, Joshua Forsythe, Lewis Fulleylove, Bryce Grimball, Sean Harpe, Nicholas Jackson, Evan Jajack, Eny Lopez, Brandon Pelletier, Thomas Petrino, Nick Renfroe, Gianlucca Scatolin, Ryan Songy and Britton Williams.

The Wildcats scored 46 goals on the season and gave up just seven.

“This is a great team made up of some amazing student-athletes,” Barnwell said, adding that the players “will be a huge asset in the coming years to both the junior varsity and varsity” soccer teams at the high school.
