In Pembroke, site of the first two rounds of the 3-A girls tourney, No. 3-seeded Bryan County High School (16-8) takes on Emanuel County Institute (3-13) in a 5:30 p.m. matchup.
The Redskins (4-21), a No. 5 seed, play ECI (11-12) on Tuesday in Claxton, site of the opening rounds of the 3-A boys' tourney.
Richmond Hill is home to both the boys' and girls' Region 2-AAAA tournament. The No. 4-seeded Wildcats (17-8) tangle with Lakeside-Evans (11-14) on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
The Lady Wildcats (22-2), a No. 1 seed, earned a first-round bye. They play at 5 p.m. Wednesday against the winner of Glynn Academy (7-14) and Lakeside Evans (9-14).
The top four teams from each region tournament advance to the state tourney.
