The annual Bryan County Recreation Department Wildcat Basketball Camp is from 9 a.m. until noon June 16-20 and June 23-27 at the Richmond Hill Recreation Gym.
Kids ages 6-16 are eligible to attend. The cost is $55 per camper. The camp teaches fundamentals and helps develop individual skills and confidence all basketball players should develop to reach their potential. Pickup games
The South Bryan County Recreation Department is sponsoring summer pick up games for kids and adults beginning this month.
Kids ages 12 and up are invited to meet at 6 p.m. every Tuesday in June for ultimate frisbee at the multipurpose field or at 6 p.m. each Thursday at the Rec Gym for basketball. In July, kids can meet at 6 p.m. Tuesdays for basketball at the gym or at 6 p.m. Thursdays for dodge ball at the gym. Adult pickup basketball and volleyball games are from 7-9 p.m. on Mondays at the rec gym.
All games are free. Teams are welcome.

Bryan County Open
Golfers who think they’re the best in the county now have a way to prove it on the course: The First Bryan County Open is coming to Black Creek Golf Club.
What’s believed to be the first stroke play event in Bryan County in recent memory will be July 12-13 at the 18-hole, Par 72 course, which was purchased in January by O.C. Welch.

Fire prevention, softball
The first annual Bryan County Fire Prevention Softball Tournament is July 11-12 at Hendrix Park in Black Creek.
The entry fee is $200 per team. Teams must be between 10-15 players for the double-elimination tourney, which will get under way at 6:30 p.m. July 11 and at 8 a.m. July 12.

Free Friday night fun runs
Richmond Hill’s Tim and Dave’s Nursery is partnering with local running company Georgia Game Changers to sponsor free Friday Night Fun Runs at J.F. Gregory Park beginning at 6:30 p.m. June 6. Particpants can run or walk the 3-mile course at J.F. Gregory Park and earn ribbons for each run or walk completed.
“The Fun Runs are a way for the community to get together while also improving their fitness, whether they choose to run or walk.” said Sandra Elliott, CEO of Game Changers.

Flag Day run
Richmond Hill’s local running company, Georgia Game Changers is hosting a free Flag Day Comeback Run at J.F. Gregory Park at 7 a.m. June 14. Participants can run or walk up to 13.1 miles.
