Game Changers Health & Fitness Complex is hosting the 2ndAnnual Health & Fitness Fair from 1 to 5 p.m. May 5. The afternoon will feature a variety of health and fitness related booths and events, with the fair benefitting Reaching Milestones.
The fair will once again follow the Puzzle Run 5k, held at J.F. Gregory Park at 9 a.m. on May 5, and is intended to bring awareness to all that Richmond Hill has to offer in terms of health and fitness, but also to support the Reaching Milestones organization, whose mission is “to improving the lives of children with special needs through the science of Applied Behavior Analysis"
Jamie Andrews, the local Community Outreach Coordinator for Reaching Milestones, is excited to be a part of the 4thAnnual Puzzle Run 5k, and the 2ndAnnual Game Changers Complex Health Fair.
“Reaching Milestones greatly appreciates the support of our community and especially Game Changers Running Company,” she said. “For four years we have partnered each spring to raise autism awareness and acceptance and have been able to donate more than $13,000 to non-profit organizations that benefit autism and children of all different abilities. This year all proceeds will be donated to the Bryan County Special Olympics who are in their first year of existence and needs our community support.”
The Health Fair also gives other small, local or home-based businesses a chance to introduce their products or services and share their vision with the local community. Game Changers Running Company is seeking local or small businesses that are health or fitness-oriented to join in the fun and set up a booth on the complex. The fee for a booth is $25, and all donations will go to benefit Reaching Milestones.
“This year’s fair will feature a host of new businesses and organizations, including samples from the soon-to-be-open Green Spork Café and Market to the organizers of Savannah Veggies and Vegans, and including the founder of Heartbeats for Life-Georgia,” said Ron Elliott, owner of Game Changers Health & Fitness Complex.
Other small businesses like By the Seas Soaps, Advocare, and representatives from Generation UCAN, a super-starch nutrition supplement, will also be displaying or sampling their products.
Other features of the afternoon include complimentary body fat composition measurements by Studio Fit, an injury screening event by Martin Healy, owner of Coastal Therapy, and an information tent sponsored by Richmond Hill Karate. Georgia Game Changers Running Company will have some in-store shoe demonstrations and have a variety of items on sale.
