The Bryan County High School track and field team got off to a fast start on March 3 in its first track meet of the season. The Redskins won the overall competition against visiting teams from Calvary, Claxton, South Effingham, Portal and Metter.
"I'm very pleased and excited about our performance," coach Blake Nesmith said. "As a coach, you're always nervous before the first real competition, because you're never quite sure how things are going to go. I had high expectations, and the kids exceeded them. With the talent we return from last year's team and a few additions that are looking strong, I expect both teams to keep improving and win a lot of meets this season."
