BCHS track team celebrates good season

The Bryan County High track team gathered together at school on Wednesday, May 18 with head coach Blake Nesmith and assistant coach Mario Mincey to celebrate another successful season and several tracksters were recognized for their outstanding efforts and improvements from the 2011 season.
Nesmith said the boys team was young, and inexperienced overall, but showed positive signs for the future throughout the track year. The girls team was headed by several veteran athletes with a few newcomers mixed in and this Lady Redskins team consistently dominated the weekly meets and took home another Region 3A Championship. The special awards are as follows:
Rookie of the Year: Alli Thompson, Stephon Fennell
Workhorse Award: Kimberly Williams, Dashon Dixon
Most Improved: Sierra Newman, Jacquez Page
Coach's Award: Macy Newman, Patrick O'Connell
High Point: Tiffany Howard, Caleb Cannon
