BCHS drops road game, Cats win

Visiting Bryan County fell to unbeaten Portal 5-3 on Tuesday in a nonregion baseball game.
The loss was the second straight for BCHS, which fell to 5-2 overall.

Before Tuesday’s setback, Bryan County was averaging 14 runs a game. A.J. Wiley and Nathan Leggett are leading the way offensively with both hitting over .500, according to coach Jason Roundtree.
Pitcher Dawson Brown is 2-0 with a .157 earned-run average for BCHS, which is on the road this weekend to take on Towns County and Fannin County in North Georgia.

The Redskins play host to Benedictine in a Region 2-AA game at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Richmond Hill

Richmond Hill goes into today’s game at Wayne County on a two-game winning streak after the Wildcats (4-2) knocked off a pair of nonregion opponents over the weekend.
According to information from MaxPreps.com, the Wildcats downed North Oconee 7-1 Friday in a game played at Armstrong State.

Parker Boyle went the distance, holding North Oconee to three hits in the outing while striking out seven in seven innings and not issuing a walk.
Offensively, Jamar Brennan and Kyle Luigs each went 2 for 4 and Brennan scored twice while Luigs had one run and an RBI.
Chris Swell was 1 for 3 with two RBIs and Braden Henle and Ben Husley each drove in a run.

Saturday, the Wildcats pulled out a 4-3 win over Greenbrier, sending the Wolfpack to their first loss of the season.
Luigs went the distance on the mound and with his bat.

The senior scattered three hits and walking one while striking out five, and. At the plate, Luigs was
2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs.

Richmond Hill plays host to Savannah Christian at 5:30 p.m. Friday on “Pack the Park” night and plays at Effingham County at 6 p.m. Monday.
