The Ford Plantation Golf Course in Richmond Hill was the site of the DripFusion Georgia Open this past weekend. It was the fourth consecutive year Ford Plantation hosted the PGA event.
Barrett Waters of Villa Rica was the first place winner, firing a closing round of 6-under par 66 and made a birdie on the first playoff hole to capture the 68th annual event.
He finished off the week at 11-under par 227 and earned a cash prize of $8,000.
Also finishing at 11-under was Kelby Burton of Evans and Jared O’Kelley of Canton. O’Kelly came close to winning the tournament but missed a short putt on the 18th hole in regulation which allowed Waters and Burton to be in the playoff.
Iceland Native Egill Gunnerson pulled through by finishing at 5-under par 283 for the low amateur honors win. The prize was a golf shop gift certificate of $750.
Tim O’Neal of Savannah wasn’t able to pull through to defend his title. He tied for 7th place at 5-under par 283, but played the weekend in four over par.
