TWO OUT MAGIC
In its first game back after a COVID induced three-week layoff, Bryan County made the most of its opportunities to post a 10-1 win over Metter on Tuesday in the Redskins’ Region 3-A opener.

The Redskins (3-1, 1-0), playing for the first time since dropping a 6-4 decision to Richmond Hill on Aug. 11, jumped on the Tigers early, scoring four runs in the first and then adding three runs in the third and sixth innings.

WILDCATS STUMBLE
Richmond Hill jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Effingham County on Tuesday night thanks to a run-scoring triple by Avery Fisher but could not make it stand up in an 8-1 Region 2-6A loss to the Rebels.
The Lady Cats could muster only four hits against Effingham’s Rylee Mills who struck out four and walked one.
Katie Rearley got off to a good start for Richmond Hill as she held Effingham scoreless over the first three innings only to have the roof cave in on her in the next three.

Richmond Hill (4-4, 2-2) will be idle until Sept. 7 when it meets region rival Glynn Academy at 6 p.m. at Wildcat Field.
