Fall hoops

Coastal Georgia Fall Basketball League for middle school and high school boys and girls is Sept. 8–Oct. 13. Cost is $325 for six games, all played at Richmond Hill Recreation Department gym on Saturdays. Call Terry Johnson at 912660-2645 for more information.

Chili Pepper 5K

The sixth Red Hot Chili Pepper 5K is July 21in Richmond Hill The event begins at 7:30 a.m. and starts at Jalepenos and includes a run through Richmond Place subdvision. The event, organized by Georgia Game Changers Running Company, is a fundraiser for Family Promise of Bryan County.

Redskins schedule

Bryan County High School released its 2018 football schedule recently. The Redskins kick off the season with an Aug. 16 scrimmage at home against Groves, then open the regular season Aug. 24 at Claxton. Bryan County gets back-to-back home dates against Long County on Aug. 31 and Savannah Country Day on Sept. 7 for homecoming before a bye week Sept. 14. The Redskins then open their Region 2-AA schedule at home against Vidalia on Sept. 21, take on Jeff Davis on Sept. 28 and play host to Toombs County on Oct. 5.

Games at Swainsboro and Metter, Oct. 12 and Oct. 19 respectively, follow, and Senior night is Oct. 26 against visiting Bacon County.

Wildcats schedule

Richmond Hill High School’s 2018 football schedule kicks off with an Aug. 17 scrimmage at Grovetown.The Wildcats open the regular season Aug. 31 at Wayne County, then play host to Camden CountySept. 7. A Sept. 14 home game against New Hampstead follows, and Richmond Hill plays host Sept. 21 to Liberty County. The Wildcats travel to South Carolina to play Bluffton on Sept. 28, then go to Brunswick on backto- back Fridays to open Region 2-AAAAAA play.

Richmond Hill plays Brunswick High on Oct. 5 and Glynn Academy on Oct. 12.

Richmond Hill is at home to end the regular season with an Oct. 19 game against Bradwell and a Nov. 2 matchup against Effingham County.
