Hello readers and welcome to another crowd pleasin’, hair teasin’, girlfriend squeezin’ for no good reason edition of the Pembroke Mafia Football League. From our worldwide multimedia headquarters in Commodore BJ Clark’s garage, we’re excited to dive headfirst into Week 4 of an amazing college football season.

Sidenote and shout out to all you good folks reading this, especially on a real piece of paper. Thank you for supporting local journalists and local pulpwooders because at this point we’re both endangered species.

Well friends, our usual editor Jeff Whitten is still in ICE custody for nefarious activities not limited to: espionage, sabotage, foot massage, fishing on Sunday, putting sugar in cornbread and terrorizing the good people of Effingham County so I am back for another week. Here ‘tis.

• Tulane @ Ole Miss: Ted is the only one riding the Greenwave. Go Reb’s.

• S Carolina @ Missouri: Jeff, Noah, Freddy, Carter, Doc and Ted select S Carolina • Auburn @ Oklahoma: BJ and Jeff only Auburn pickers but BJ would pick Auburn against the Horseman of the Apocalypse.

• Michigan @ Nebraska: Carter, Ben and Ted select the Cornhuskers. Should be a good slobberknocker of a ballgame. 3:30 on CBS.

• Boise ST @ Air Force: BJ, Mike B and I select Boise over the Flyboys.

• James Madison @ Liberty: Ben, Ted, Doc and Freddy select Liberty • Mich St @ USC: Noah, Carter, Doc and Ted select M State. Big spread but I believe this one might be closer than the bookies think. Of course I’m also tied for last in this contest so….

• Coastal Carolina @ Southern Ala.: Rev Lawrence, Freddy, Ted, Carter, Doc and I select Coastal.

• Tex Tech @ Utah: Mike B, Ted, BJ, and Rev Lawrence select the Utes. Rest pick Texas T mainly because Raider Red is one of my favorite mascots.

• Shippensburg U @ Slippery Rock: All select Slippery Rock who are 2-0. Game’s at 6:00. Tickets start at $10.
