Editor, I would like to thank all the people that have placed oyster shells in the collection center at Sterling Creek and Highway 144.  As of this date we have collected over 8,000 pounds of shell that will be put back into our estuaries, where they will help the environment along with producing a place for more oysters to grow.
We check the location almost every day and have found little trash in the shell. It makes me proud to know that we have helped keep all this shell out of our landfills.
