2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us that those who decide to follow Jesus become new people; they are a new spiritual creation.

The old life is behind them, and the new life is before them.

I personally have had the privilege of witnessing these transformations during these last 46 years of pastoral ministry. There is nothing that should thrill a pastor, or a Christian for that matter of fact, then to see new spiritual life taking place.

One of several places where I get to see it up close is through our Celebration Recovery ministry here at New Beginnings. Celebrate recovery helps people overcome many different types of bad habits and hang-ups. To me what is so wonderful is to see those who address their issues but also come to this understanding that Jesus is that higher power they need.

He not only can help them with addictions but also can come into a relationship with them and give them peace and eternal life.

In the very next couple of verses, 18-19, Paul lets us know that we have the responsibility of letting others know that this new life is possible.
