Local actors will hit the main stage this month as the Richmond Hill Community Theatre brings its production of “Writers’ Runaround” at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 11 at Richmond Hill City Center with additional performances at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 12.
Tickets are $10 for the Sept. 11 performance and the Sept. 12 evening performance. Tickets for the Sept. 12 matinee are $5. Group tickets are available for $55 for six people. Tickets may be purchased online at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/writers-runaround.
The show promises audiences a playful trip through the lives and personalities of legendary writers as they tackle everything from modern-day pop culture to dating in the digital age. For example, imagine if Jane Austen, Ernest Hemingway, Dorothy Parker, and Oscar Wilde argued about Star Wars and Harry Potter in a sports bar, or if Homer confronted his agent about his new epic poem. The production brings these scenarios and more to the forefront. The play is directed by Tony Castellano, co-directed by Brianne "Breezy" Shuman, and produced by Katherine "Katie" Miraldes.

The venue has hosted a variety of recent cultural experiences, including Arts on the Coast’s ArtNite and the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill’s Oyster Roast fundraiser featuring a live musical performance. The theatre group continues the tradition with its forthcoming production.
“Writers’ Runaround is a smart, energetic comedy that brings legendary writers off the page and into wonderfully unexpected situations,” said Castellano. “We are excited to share a show that blends classic literature, contemporary humor, and the creativity of our talented cast at the Richmond Hill City Center.”
With its flexible event space and central location in coastal Georgia, Richmond Hill City Center provides a welcoming setting for community events, celebrations and more. The LEED-certified, 20,000 square-foot facility includes a 4,000 square-foot ballroom and 10 meeting rooms, making it a versatile venue for many events.
