Responding with ‘no,’ or ‘let’s go’
pastor corner

When the children of Israel were in the wilderness heading towards the promised land, God instructed Moses to send out one man from every tribe to explore the land. They were to go and find out how fertile the land was and what challenges they would face when they went in to take possession of it. They were to bring back a report as well as evidence of the land’s fertility.

They did these things but when they reported back to Moses and the community, they were divided in their response in how to face the challenges that were presented. They all agreed that the land was a great land to live in, but they differed on their opinion concerning whether or not to go in and possess it. Ten of them said “no” because the people there were powerful, the cities were fortified, and giants lived in the land. Two of them, Joshua and Caleb, said “go” because they believed in the promises and the power of God to help them.

We all have a journey that includes God’s will for our life, and we will face challenges as we move forward in this journey.

The big question is, will I say “no” because of unbelief and fear or will I say “let’s go” because of faith in our God who keeps His promises and will help me to be victorious?
