Dear Editor: On March 28, 2010, the Youth Department of Mill Creek Baptist Church in Ellabell, Ga., sponsored a benefit gospel concert to help defray the medical cost of two young ladies who were afflicted with incurable diseases.
The concert benefited Miss Chantalette T. Smith, known as “Shay” who was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) on April 30, 2009. She is a senior at Bryan County High School in Pembroke, Ga.
Alexis L. Proctor was diagnosed with Lupus. She is a graduate of St. Vincent’s High School in Savannah, Ga., and is a member of Central Baptist Church Hull Street.
