Richmond Hill Middle School student Donovon Sutton won the opportunity to represent Bryan County in the district spelling bee in Waycross on Feb. 28 by correctly spelling the words "meticulous" and "trajectory" during the countywide spelling Bee Friday at Carver Elementary. Canaan Hancock from Carver Elementary will be the alternate. Also among the three finalists was Terrence "T.P." Riley of Bryan County Elementary School who was eliminated by the word "relevant." Associate Superintendent John Oliver presented certificates of accomplishment to all three and told them, "You represent a lot of good spellers in the district. You all did a good job. We’re very proud."
