Bryan County High School’s spring sports teams are winding down regular season play and turning their attention to the state playoffs. The Redskins baseball, girls’ soccer and girls’ tennis teams in particular are excited about their prospects as they will be No. 2 seeds and will host first round playoff games.

While all that is going on, school administrators are also gearing up for their awards ceremonies and they want to remind fans the deadline for purchasing tickets is approaching.

The high school will hold its all-sports banquet on May 6 at 5 p.m. at the Robert Bowers Gymnasium with a sit-down dinner from 5-5:30 p.m. and recognition of athletes from each team starting shortly after. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased online via the GoFan app. The deadline for purchasing tickets is May 1 and dinner options are either grilled chicken or Boston butt.

Bryan County teams overall have had outstanding seasons with the football, volleyball and girls basketball teams having won region championships. The football team especially had a great season as it was 12-2 and advanced to the Final Four of the Class A-D1 playoffs.

This will mark the first-time girls' soccer and tennis will be hosting playoff games while baseball will be playing a playoff series at home for the first time since 1987.

Bryan County Middle School winter and spring teams will also be recognized at 5 p.m. on May 2 at the school gym. The middle school boys' and girls' track teams both recently won region championships with Braden Sharpe and Tristen Glover each being high point scorers.
