Service groups hand out treats at food drive
Treats for eats 1

The City of Richmond Hill held a drive-thru Halloween-themed food drive called “Treats for Eats” on Saturday, October 24 at J.F. Gregory Park. Nearly 8,000 non-perishable food items were donated directly to Richmond Hill’s food pantries; Way Station Food Pantry and Eleos Food Pantry.

As a token of appreciation, children in the vehicles were given Halloween treat bags filled with candy and other donated items from local businesses including Bocook Realty (gold sponsor), T-Mobile (silver sponsor), The Ice Cream Stop, The Cottage, Surfside Kids, Hope ABA and more.

The Richmond Hill Community Theatre group volunteered to dress in costume to direct traffic and hand out the treat bags. Members of local boy scout troops and the Beta Club also volunteered to fill the treat bags and sort the donated food goods.
