Though it got off to a slow start, qualifying for local elections picked up steam in Bryan County with 11 people seeking a total of seven seats. Qualifying ended at noon Friday, and races for each of the three available seats on the Bryan County Board of Commissioners are contested, as is one of the four seats open on the Bryan County Board of Education.
