Richmond Hill High School graduate Blakeley Ainsworth was promoted to a full-time public relations job in Jacksonville in January.

Upon completion of her four-month-long internship in April 2009, Ainsworth, 22, was offered a part-time position, and in January was promoted to a more demanding full-time position as public relations and marketing coordinator for The Jacksonville Landing, a multi-purpose facility providing year-round shopping, dining and entertainment.

Ainsworth is responsible for sending out press releases, creating advertisements, flyers and brochures, updating The Landing’s website, planning and coordinating events, creating and distributing in-house memorandums, newsletters and monthly calendars, managing all social media outlets, and more.

"I look forward to coming to work every morning. No two days are alike, and that’s what I’ve always wanted in a career," said Ainsworth.

After making an impression on The Landing’s management staff, Ainsworth transferred from Georgia Southern University to accept the part-time event coordinator and marketing assistant position and make her Florida residency permanent. When the full-time public relations position opened up, Ainsworth was first to be offered the job.

Ainsworth, RHHS class of 2005 graduate, attended her first three-and-a-half years of college at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro as a public relations major. She continues to peruse a communications degree with a focus in PR by taking night classes at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, expected in December 2010.
