Pool offers chance to get cool in Pembroke
YMCA Pool-3

With mercury rising and temperatures peaking in the triple digits, the Pembroke Community Pool’s lifeguards are ready to help cool the community while offering a refreshing splash of outdoor fun.

Once again, the YMCA of Coastal Georgia is operating the community pool. The lifeguards officially opened the pool for business on May 23 and the pool staff is offering public swimming, swim lessons, and more.

For $2 per person anyone can swim from 1:30-3:30 Mondays through Saturday. On Sundays the pool is open to the public from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Swimming lessons are available for all levels of swimmers at a cost of $40 for YMCA members and $60 for non-members. Each payment includes six 30 minute sessions. Private lessons are also available for $25 per half-hour and $45 per hour.

The pool is also available for private parties. For a $50 fee, each party will be supplied with one YMCA lifeguard to watch over pool attendees.

The community pool is located behind the Bryan County Courthouse at 91 Lanier Street in Pembroke. For more information on the Pembroke Community Pool or other YMCA programs call 756-5856.
