Details about a traffic light slated for the intersection of Mulberry Drive and Highway 17 in Richmond Hill changed Wednesday after a decision by the Richmond Hill City Council.
At a called meeting held in City Hall, the council unanimously approved accepting $25,000 from TRC-Richmond Hill for the installation of a traffic light at that intersection.
TRC-Richmond Hill is the developer of a proposed Family Dollar store to be located at the corner of Mulberry Drive and Highway 17.
The council originally approved several requests from TRC-Richmond Hill regarding the development at its April 3 meeting, stipulating that the developer had to pay for the total cost of the light, which Mayor Harold Fowler said Friday is around $175,000.
The remaining cost of the light will be shared by the city and the Georgia Department of Transportation, Fowler said, noting he isn’t aware of how much either share will be yet.
