Local airman returns to U.S.
Sailors abord USS George H. W. Bush reach Va. Homeport

Navy Airman Meosha L. Brunson was among 5,500 sailors attached to USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77) who recently returned to their Norfolk, Va., homeport.
Brunson, the daughter of Darlene Brunson of Pembroke, is a 2006 graduate of Miami Killian Senior High School of Miami. She joined the Navy in October 2006.
CVN 77 recently completed a seven-month deployment supporting combat operations in the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet area of responsibilities and was relieved by the USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74).
While in the Mediterranean Sea, USS George H.W. Bush conducted a full range of maritime operations and theater security cooperation efforts in concert with coalition, joint, interagency and other partners to improve operational proficiency and maintain maritime safety and security.
This was George H.W. Bush’s maiden deployment.
