Winning five straight regional titles isn’t easy, and Richmond Hill’s girls’ volleyball team is finding that out.

The Wildcats began the week with an overall 16-5 record, and they currently sit third in the 7A region with a 3-3 mark. They are still in the hunt, and head coach Danielle Ennis knows they will have to dig down a little bit deeper.

“I think our girls are playing hard, and we’ve seen a lot of positive things from them,’ evaluated Ennis. “ We’ve had some really close matches that haven’t gone our way, but we’re right there competing. At this point in the season, we’re continuing to work with our lineup and trying different combinations to figure out where everyone can be the most successful and what gives us the best chance as a team.”

Leading the team in categories are Alexa Anderson in digs with 216, and Daisy Willis tops the team in aces with 244. Raeden Sander leads the team in kills with 124, and Kailah King has a team-high 19 blocks. Lily West has 31 serving aces.

Ennis continues to relish her team’s work ethic.

“One thing I really like about this group is that they continue to work and compete,” she stressed. “ We’re learning that in close matches, the little things make a big difference—communication, consistency, staying composed, and finishing points when we have the opportunity.”

Staying on a steady path down the stretch will be their main prerogative. The Wildcats have a busy week with Colquitt County and Savannah Arts Tuesday and Islands Wednesday, all three matches at home. They then travel to Savannah Christian Thursday where they will also play South Effingham.

“Our focus right now is on becoming more consistent and learning how to finish those close sets. We know we have the talent to compete; now it’s about putting everything together, finding the right chemistry on the court, and playing confidently from beginning to end. I’m excited to see how we continue to grow as the season progresses.”
