Bryan County Schools has released a statement this afternoon regarding an incident between a student and a staff member that occurred at Richmond Hill Primary School on Monday, Sept. 14.
The statement reads:
"On September 14, Bryan County Schools became aware of an incident involving a staff member and a student at Richmond Hill Primary School. The district immediately activated our safety protocols, notified law enforcement, and reported the matter to the Georgia Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS).
Following an initial review, the district took appropriate personnel action.
Due to the active investigation and strict privacy laws protecting students and staff, we cannot share further details at this time. However, Bryan County Schools is cooperating fully with all investigating agencies.
The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority. We take all reports concerning student safety seriously and will always act swiftly to protect our school community."
