Infinger wins primary race

Current Bryan County Commission Chairman Carter Infinger defeated challenger Buck Holly on Tuesday evening, winning 60.95% of ballots cast in the May 21 Republican primary.

Infinger, who has served as Commission Chairman since 2016, received 2,617 votes in his favor. He will run unopposed in November.

Other races: 

For Bryan County Commission Chairman, District 1: Alex Floyd won the primary with 59.35% of the votes cast (476 votes).

Floyd ran against Wes Silas and Scott Puffer.

For Bryan County Commission Chairman, District 3: Jeff Nielsen won the primary with 55.29% of the votes cast. (528 votes).

Nielsen ran against Kevin P. Bowes and Chris Raiford.

For Board of Education, Vice Chair: Marianne Smith defeated J. Scott Novinski with 62.60% of the ballots cast. (2,477 votes).

For Clerk of Superior Court: Rebecca “Becky” G. Crowe won unopposed with 100% of ballots cast (3,895 votes).

For Sheriff: Mark D. Crowe won unopposed with 100% of ballots cast (3,935 votes).

For School Board, District 2: Dennis Seger won unopposed with 100% of ballots cast (394 votes).

For School Board, District 3: Derrick Smith won unopposed with 100% of ballots cast (856 votes).

For Georgia State Senate, District 1: Current Georgia State Senator Ben Watson defeated Beth Majeroni with 66.65% of the ballots cast (2,788 votes).

For U.S. House of Representatives, District 1: Earl L. “Buddy” Carter won unopposed with 100% of the ballots cast (3,940 votes).

He will face off against Democratic challenger Patti Hewitt–who also ran unopposed–in the fall.
