The Bryan County NAACP is proud to announce that four students, one from Bryan County High School and three from Richmond Hill High School were awarded higher education scholarships this summer. Each award recipient demonstrated academic excellence, positive leadership in action and a dedication to community service.

Chloe Enoch – Richmond Hill High School - $1,250 award

Justin Daniel – Bryan County High School - $1,250 award

Greggory Freightman – Richmond Hill High School - $750 award

Jayna Jackson – Richmond Hill High School - $750 award

These scholars will be attending Howard University in Washington, DC, University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, and Georgia State University in Atlanta this fall.

This year's recipients completed the required application which were thereafter submitted to members of the Bryan County Scholarship Committee comprised of Luella M. Sanders, Committee Chair, Adrienne Jackson, Dave Williams, Clyde Shepard, Amy Murphy, Sheila Fields, and Johnnie Quiller. Committee members independently reviewed and scored each application which determined application ranking and award amounts.

Established in February 2021, the Bryan County NAACP Higher Education Scholarship's vision is to provide not only financial assistance to students striving for academic, professional, and personal excellence but a complete system of networking, professional mentorship, and community engagement opportunities to students within the Bryan County area.

Scholarships were made possible by donations from community members and our founding donors, R. Scott, and Meredith D. Belford.
