Various churches, businesses, and other institutions in Bryan County celebrated Easter in a variety of ways. The Downtown Development Authority of Pembroke hosted its annual Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, April 12 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
In addition to egg hunting, raffle prizes were also sponsored by local businesses from downtown Pembroke, including Owens Supply Company, Storehouse Salvage, Soo Amazyng Boutique, Page Feed & Seed, The Flower Shop, O’Reilly, and Friends of the TOS Theatre.
The Pembroke Police Department and Auxiliary cooked hot dogs for attendees. The Fire Department also brought a fire engine.
According to Fernanda Camacho Hauser, the Director of the Downtown Development Authority, the Pembroke Fire and Police Departments help make this event possible each year.
