The Bryan County community came together for an incredible evening of generosity, hope and support at Catie’s Gathering Bryan County, raising more than $170,000 for CURE Childhood Cancer. The event was held August 29 at Bryan County Elementary School in Pembroke.
Catie’s Gathering benefits Catie’s Fund, a Named Fund of CURE Childhood Cancer established by Jenny and Tre Wilkins in memory of their daughter, Catie, who lost her battle with medulloblastoma at just four years old. Funds raised help advance critical childhood cancer research while supporting children and families throughout their cancer journey.
One of the most meaningful moments of the evening came as guests heard the powerful story of Rhealynn, a young girl who has battled osteosarcoma for several years with remarkable strength and determination. Her story served as a moving reminder of why the community gathered and the impact its support can have on children and families facing childhood cancer.
Mark Crowe served as emcee for the evening, while Auction Alex led an exciting live auction and Faith Harvest Worship provided music. Guests also enjoyed a silent auction, raffles, games and prizes throughout the evening.
The success of Catie’s Gathering Bryan County was made possible through the tremendous support of sponsors, volunteers, donors and attendees. Funds raised through Catie’s Gathering will support CURE Childhood Cancer’s mission to conquer childhood cancer through funding targeted research while providing critical support to patients and their families.
