The Carver Elementary School Science Olympiad team recently qualified for state competition after winning first place at the Savannah Regional Science Olympiad Tournament on March 9 in Pooler.

Individual events and winners are as follows:

Barge Building - first place: Xander Korn and Sarabeth Thornton.

Bridge Building - third place: Bruno Okada and Ben Schieler.

Deep Blue Sea - third place: Abby Found and Tuke Lippert.

Paper Rockets - first place: Da’Jah Brown and Ziyad Abdelsaid.

Weather or Not - first place: Bella Haley and Charlie Harper. 

Which Way is North? - first place: Brayden Edelman and Gavin Valentine.

Write It/Do It - first place: Jake Fruchtl and Blake Whittaker.

The team will travel to Kennesaw to compete in the state tournament on May 11.
