GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. – Dollar General has opened a new store in Midway, 167 Butler Ave., and has set its grand opening for Saturday, beginning 8 a.m.
At the grand opening, customers will be offered deals and prizes. The first 50 shoppers will receive $10 gift cards and the first 200 shoppers will receive a Dollar General tote bag, among other giveaways.
The new store, which has been open a couple weeks, is similar, but larger than the companies long-open store, which was across Butler from the new location. The new store has 12,480-square-feet of shopping space and will employ six to 10 people.
“Dollar General is committed to delivering a pleasant shopping experience that includes a convenient location, a well-edited assortment of merchandise, great prices and an updated store design,” said Gayle Aertker, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development. “We hope our Midway customers will continue to enjoy shopping at Dollar General’s new location.”
The new location features a layout that is supposed to make shopping easier and simpler for customers. Some of the store’s new features include seasonal products in the center of the store, easily recognizable departments with signage and coolers at the front of the store.
Dollar General says its stores focus on national brands and private brands of food, housewares, seasonal items, cleaning supplies, basic apparel and health and beauty care products. About 25 percent of the merchandise in Dollar General is sold for just $1 or less.
