A sports bar and restaurant in Richmond Hill closed this week after three and a half years of business.
Sunday, Oct. 31, was the last day that Beef ‘O’ Brady’s on Ford Avenue was open for business. The restaurant and bar opened in April 2007.
Owner Georgia Goolsby said Monday that she and her husband didn’t get enough business to stay open.
“We just didn’t make any money,” she said.
The decision to close the business was made last week, Goolsby said, adding that it’s been a “struggle” since they opened.
“We tried,” she said. “We thought it was a good fit. It wasn’t."
Goolsby said she appreciated the support she and her husband, Doug, received when people in the community found out that Beef ‘O’ Brady’s was closing.
“It was very nice,” she said. “It was so warm and welcome.”
It’s important to shop local and support local businesses, Goolsby said.
“If you don’t support them, you won’t have any,” she said.
Beef ‘O’ Brady’s is a chain sports bar and restaurant based in Tampa, Fla. The first restaurant opened in Brandon, Fla., in 1985. It has locations in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and other states. There is also a Beef ‘O’ Brady’s in Savannah.
