Construction and renovations have temporarily come to a halt on the old Black Creek School, but are expected to start again in the next few weeks. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Sallie Brewer said she anticipates the building to be finished within the next six months. According to Brewer, once complete, the old school will house the offices of director’s level positions, including Brewer's, the directors of maintenance and curriculum, as well as two large conference rooms and museum rooms that will exhibit items from the time of the original Black Creek School.
