On Sunday, June 9, Bethel Baptist Church of Richmond Hill celebrated the grand opening of its new worship center.
The opening, which coincided with the church’s 47th anniversary, was commemorated with a sizeable crowd, including regular churchgoers and local government leaders.
Pastor Brian Cooper gave thanks...
“We work hard at trying not just to be good church members, but the right kind of citizens,” said Cooper, whose brother Josh was awarded a Community Difference Maker award at Tuesday’s Richmond Hill City Council Meeting on June 11.
Richmond Hill Mayor Russ Carpenter remarked during the awards section of the meeting that a growing church community is ‘integral’ to a successful city.
The new worship center at Bethel Baptist is composed of a 500-seat auditorium, and is a project worth about $500,000 in financial investment, according to Cooper.
