SAVANNAH - Forecasters are warning Southeast Georgia residents to brace themselves for blistering summer heat, with possible triple-digit temperatures.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Friday in coastal areas from Savannah to Darien and as far inland as Statesboro and Reidsville. High temperatures are forecast from the mid-90s to 100 degrees.

The Weather Service says high humidity could push the heat index between 105 to 110 degrees.

Counties included in the heat advisory are Chatham, Jenkins, Screven, Candler, Bulloch, Effingham, Tattnall, Evans, Bryan, Long, Liberty and McIntosh.
