10 year-old girl dies from ATV crash
Georgia State Patrol patch

A 10-year-old girl was killed Sunday after the all-terrain vehicle (ATV) she was driving flipped and fell on her, according to Georgia State Patrol Post 45 Trooper 1st Class Brent Hammond.

Around noon Sunday on Coon Key Lane, off Raccoon Key Drive in Ellabell, the girl and another child were riding in a private drive when the Polaris Ranger overturned, Hammond said. The vehicle landed on top of the child who was driving.

EMS responded and tried to revive the child on the way to the hospital, but efforts were not successful, and the child was pronounced dead, he said.

The other child, a passenger in the vehicle, suffered minor injuries.
