NATURE A few weeks ago, I came home from work to find a three-inch grasshopper just chilling on the outside of my front door.

I know grasshoppers are harmless, but they are also creepy and they jump, so when I saw it I froze. I stood a few feet away from my door for about 10 minutes debating how to get inside. I only dared to get closer, so I could snap a few photos of the large, green insect and send them to everyone I know along with several exclamation points and a few "screaming face" emojis.

Needless to say, I could not handle the situation in this video.

In the video, a guy holds not one, but two of what must be among the world's creepiest insects. The creatures are about the size of his hand and look like they came straight out of a sci-fi movie. But he apparently found them in Malaysia.

According to the video's description, these particular insects are two different types of phasmids, the insect order that includes the stick bug. And these ones are extra special. The Malayan jungle-nymph (the first green bug you see in the video) holds the record for heaviest stick bug and can weigh around 65 grams. The second insect featured in the video is known as Macleay's spectre, or the Giant Prickly Stick Insect, and is great at camouflage.

OK, now that we know all this fun information about very large and scary-looking bugs, maybe we (mainly me) will be less afraid when a comparably tiny grasshopper shows up at our houses looking like it wants to be invited in for afternoon tea. If we're being honest though, I still doubt it, because I haven't managed to watch this video all the way through without cringing.
