Freedom Eubanks didnt think shed actually give birth on Monday morning.

The Greenville, South Carolina, mother spent the last few days going through false alarms, even though her babys due date had passed, according to USA Today.

But as the contractions grew stronger she soon realized that it time.

"I knew she was going to come this time. But I didnt know if it would be today. I thought maybe it could be tomorrow," she told The Greenville News on Monday. "It was surprising."

And so Freedom and her husband, Michael, came to an immediate decision while on the car ride to the hospital.

Should the baby be born on Monday, the same day as the Great American Eclipse, then so, too, shall the baby be named Eclipse.

At 8:04 a.m. ET, the baby was born. And indeed, Freedom and Michael named her Eclipse.

"It was kind of shocking and unusual," Freedom said, according to USA Today. "Shell probably have some pretty special birthdays."

She told ABC News, "I kind of felt like it was meant to happen, to have her on this day.
