Turkey egg hunt after Thanksgiving

Help find all of the eggs left by turkeys around Cypress Creek Adventure Golf on Nov. 30. Kids (ages 0-5) are invited to hunt for the missing eggs. The egg hunt is free and starts at 10 a.m. For more information, call 767-4273.

 

Skeet and five stand shoot

A 50-Bird Skeet Trap and 5 Stand Shoot will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Hunter Skeet/Trap Range. Registration deadline is Thursday. Sign-up sheet is at the range. The cost is $25 for one event, $40 for two and $50 for all three. For information, call 315-9554/9354/9250.

 

Thunder Run hours

Beginning Dec. 1, Thunder Run restaurant at Club Stewart will be closed for lunch on Mondays. Hours Tuesday-Friday will continue to be 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. For more information, call 767-4717.

 

Hunter golfers

There have been major renovations at Hunter Golf Course – re-grassing, bunker repairs, circulation and sunlight improvements. You’re invited to fall in love with the course again with the course. Special rates on greens and golf cart fees are being offered to welcome you back. Call 315-9115.

 

Disc golf

A nine-hole disc golf course has been laid out on the grounds of Newman Fitness Center at Fort Stewart. Players can choose between layouts of 3,178 yards (par 30) or 2,542 yards (par 28). There’s no charge. Players can check out equipment at the Newman front desk or bring their own. For more information, call 767-3031.

 

Managed hunt

Soldiers and retirees can sign up until Dec. 8 at the Stewart or Hunter Pass and Permit offices for the final Outdoor Recreation managed deer/hog hunt at Fort Stewart this season. The hunt will be in the Bravo Area Dec. 19, with a selection drawing on Dec. 8.

There are 45 slots for soldiers and five for retirees. A $25 fee per hunter is payable upon selection. For more information, call either of the Pass and Permit office, 435-8061 on Stewart and 315-5163 on Hunter.

 

Gridiron Challenge

Fill out a game sheet with your NFL picks and turn it in by noon on Fridays, and you could leave the Gridiron Challenge that evening with a $100 gift card. Sheets available at all Stewart fitness centers, Marne and Stewart bowling centers, and Club Stewart.

You must be present at the Challenge that start at 6 p.m. Fridays in Thunder Run to win and to have a chance to win the grand prize of $400 cash after week 17. There’s no admission charge, but you must be 18 to play and 21 or older to drink. For more information, call 767-4717.

 

Smokey Mountains

Register by Jan. 25 for a Leisure Travel trip to Gatlinburg. Skiing, snowboarding, tubing and ice skating are all available at the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort. Cost of $450 for 1-4 persons includes hotel and transportation. Additional $50 charge for fifth person. Price does not cover ski and snow board rentals, but Military discounts are given.
