Sweet tea contest part of fest

The second annual sweet-tea tasting competition is set for 2:30-11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21,  during the 10th annual Blues and BBQ festival in downtown Hinesville.
Competitors will vie for the title of Best Sweet Tea in Liberty County as determined by a people’s choice contest. The competition is open to area restaurants, caterers and individuals. To join, call the CVB at 368-3580 or by email at tourism@libertycounty.org.
Musicians will take the stage starting at 4:30 p.m. with Soul Gravy, followed by headliner Swamp Cabbage at 7 p.m. and 3rd Class Citizens at 9:30 p.m.
Attendees can sample barbecue from  4-5 p.m. during the people’s choice competition. Barbecue will be available for purchase throughout the evening.
The festival will be held in the public parking lot behind Main Street buildings.
