Marti Ledford, from Nashville, Tenn., will return to the area for a concert, sharing her faith through song, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at the FirsAt Baptist Church of Blitchton. The church is located at 5204 Hwy. 80 East, Ellabell.
Ledford is looking forward to reconnecting with many friends in the area after 21 years in Nashville. As a resident of Chatham County, she was the co-owner of Marti’s Fried Chicken restaurants and sang in the Gospel Quartet, Marti and the Joy Masters. She is eager to share the blessings of God and how he has directed her path and her ministry.
“I hope to see many of the frieAnds that I left behind when we moved to Nashville, Tenn., in 1989,” she said. “I have been planning this trip for some time. My son, Brian, and I are both excited to be coming home for a few days.”
Ledford travels extensively to conduct choral workshops and vocal coaching sessions for groups and soloist. She has been a studio vocal coach, as well as a teacher, at the Dr. Charles Novell School of Music at Murray State University in Murray, Ky. Ledford has had the opportunity to work with some of the most recognizable names in the Southern gospel music industry.
The concert is being sponsored by Dennis Folker and First Baptist Church of Blitchton. He and his family, Harmony, will also be performing.
The Rev. Darnell Barner, church pastor, invites everyone to attend and be a part of this special night. There will not be a charge for the concert, but a freewill offering will be taken.
