Newman Fitness Center will be closed Aug.12 and 13 for maintenance. Patrons are encouraged to use Johnson, Caro or Jordan fitness centers during the closure. Newman will re-open on Aug. 14.
Horses 101
Register by Aug. 12 for a Leisure Travel Horseback Riding 101 trip to Norwood Stables at Richmond Hill from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 12. Long range shooting

Bodybuilding contest
“The Rock” Bodybuilding, Physique and Figure Contest will be Aug. 29 at Woodruff Theater, with weigh-in 8-9 a.m., pre-judging at 10 and the finals at 6:30 p.m.
Event is open to military ID cardholders (ages 17 and older) and civilians. Entry fees are $25 until Aug. 10, $35 Aug. 11-29, plus $15 for crossovers.
Each contestant will be judged on muscularity, symmetry and posing. First to third-place awards and trophies to be awarded.
There will be eight divisions.
Free bodybuilding seminars at Newman begin at 10 a.m. Aug. 15 and 22. Topics will include posing and presentation walk, suit and shoe selection and overall presentation.
