It may not be a Hollywood casting call, but the Liberty Theater Company on Tuesday and Wednesday will hold auditions for its spring comedy, “Barefoot in the Park.”
The troupe is seeking four males and two females for the Neil Simon play during open audition sessions from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Hinesville Area Arts Council gallery at 102 Commerce St.
Hinesville Area Arts Council Vice Chairwoman Jennifer Buehler will direct the comedy, which calls on character foils to build its humor. Performances are slated for May 17-18 at Dorchester Village Civic Center in Midway.
Centered around newlyweds Paul and Corie Bratter, the show explores the dynamics that come into play when a conservative young attorney who’s “26 going on 56” marries a fun-loving 20-something. Supporting characters include Corie’s mother, a middle-aged male neighbor and a wise-cracking man in his 30s.
