The Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division is considering changes to the ferry-fee structure for certain guests. A modest rate increase is being considered to address increased operational costs and maintaining fiduciary responsibilities.

A public meeting is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday in the senior citizens center on Sapelo Island to provide the public an opportunity to submit input for consideration in the development of proposed amendments to the Sapelo Island access and transportation rules, relating to fee schedules for paying guests and department guests. Those unable to attend may submit input for consideration by mail, telephone or electronically. Send written comments to: Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division, Game Management Section; 2070 U.S. Highway 278, SE; Social Circle, GA 30025; ATTN: John W. Bowers. The deadline for submitting input is Nov. 30.
