The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill presented its first monthly Junior Rotarian awards of the year Jan. 12 to two Richmond Hill High School graduates who came back to teach at the school.
Ninth-grade science teacher Sean Strickland, who graduated from RHHS in 2001, and Bill Henderson, member of the class of 2005, received their awards from RHHS Principal Helen Herndon during the club’s meeting at the Richmond Hill City Center.
“Sean and Bill both personify going above and beyond their duties on a daily basis,” said Herndon. “Both coach basketball and baseball, and I am so pleased and proud that they have chosen to pursue their vocations for teaching at the Richmond Hill High School.”
Rotary President Bill Eberlein said he, too, was happy to have the two return home.
“The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill is pleased to see that these impressive young men have chosen to return to live, work, teach and mentor others in our community,” he said.
