The Pembroke Garden Club always tours different gardens in May, and this year the group went to Joiner Daylily Gardens just outside of Pembroke.
After the tour at Joiner, the club visited the home of Phyllis Covington to see the garden that she has obviously put a lot of work into.
Next, the club went to the home of Diane Stewart, club president, to have lunch, which consisted of chicken fingers and covered dishes brought by other members.
The club will not meet in June, July or August but will gear up again on Sept. 15. Socializing will be at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting will start at 10 a.m.
