July 3: Tybee Island’s Independence Day Fireworks — It’s time once again, for the annual night-before-Independence Day fireworks display at the beach. The fireworks are visible from anywhere on the east side of the island and start about a half hour after sunset. For more information, call (912) 786-5801 or log on to visittybee.com.

July 4
Fourth of July at Fort McAllister Historic Park — Civil War troops will fire special salutes for those who have died for freedom. Play period games and enjoy a cool slice of melon. Bring the family, pack a lunch and enjoy a day at the park. For more information call 912-727-2339.

July 6
Richmond Hill salutes the red, white and blue — Come out to J.F. Gregory Park in Richmond Hill for free fishing and kids inflatable water rides. There will also be live music by the band 3rd Class Citizens and a special farmers market with food and craft vendors. Bring your own coolers, lounge chairs and blankets. The event starts at 5 p.m. and fireworks go off at 9 p.m.

July 4-7
Fourth of July Festival on River Street — River Street in downtown Savannah plays host to another Fourth of July celebration. Fireworks go off from 9:30-10 p.m. Thursday. Live music continues throughout the weekend with arts and crafts on Rousakis Plaza. Festival hours are 4-11 p.m. Thursday, noon-11 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
